eye care services
At San Ramon Optometric Group, we offer personalized eye care to address all of your vision and ocular health concerns. Our doctors provide comprehensive eye exams; specialty contact lens exams; pediatric eye exams; thorough ocular health exams for the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease, allergies, and injury; and LASIK and refractive surgery consultations.
Comprehensive Eye Examinations
We conduct thorough examinations for both children and adults. The comprehensive eye examination includes pupillary, binocular, oculomotor, and visual field testing. A refraction is completed to determine the need and strength of any correction that may be needed. Anterior and posterior segment evaluation is completed to analyze the health of the eyes. We offer Optos digital imaging of the retinas which does not require dilation drops. We perform specialized testing for computer users so they can achieve the most comfortable vision for their needs.
Medical diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases
Our doctors are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of numerous eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, ocular allergies, and dry eye syndrome. We conduct detailed tests to screen for retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular diseases, and floaters. We use state of the art Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) to obtain high resolution images of the retina and anterior segment of the eye. We treat ocular emergencies such as eye infections (e.g. pink eye) and injuries such as corneal abrasions.
Contact Lens Fittings
We provide contact lens care in the form of ongoing contact lens evaluations for current wearers and fittings for new contact lens wearers. We fit a variety of contact lenses including spherical, toric, and bifocal lenses. We offer a vast array of contact lens types and specialize in bifocal contact lenses.
Our doctors are both certified for MiSight therapeutic lenses, which are the only FDA approved contact lenses to control the progression of nearsightedness in children between the ages of 8-12. Other myopia control treatment strategies, such as atropine eye drops may also be prescribed for your child. Our doctors will review each option with you to find which therapy is best for your child.
We are able to conduct detailed testing to determine if you are an ideal candidate for refractive eye surgery, including LASIK. We are affiliated with Dr. Patel at the Turner Vision Correction Center. We co-manage pre- and post-operatively. LASIK pre-evaluation consists of thorough refractive error testing and corneal and retinal health evaluation. Post-operative care at our office consists of testing visual acuity and ensuring that the eyes are healing properly.
