Fletcher Thames, OD
Dr. Thames completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at U. C. Irvine. He did post graduate work at California State University at Fullerton in reading difficulties. He received his Doctor of Optometry in 1982 from U. C. Berkeley School of Optometry and was honored with the Golden Retinoscope Award as the outstanding graduating clinician. Also served on the board of Directors of the Alameda Optometric Association Contact Lens Section and is a clinical associate with Laser Surgery Centers.

Joelle Chan, oD, FAAO
Dr. Chan is a Northern California native. She completed her undergraduate education at UC Berkeley with a degree in Integrative Biology. Dr. Chan continued her graduate training at UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where she was awarded the VSP Excellence in Primary Care Award upon earning her doctorate degree. She completed additional residency training at VA Central California Health Care System with an emphasis in ocular disease, specialty contact lens fittings, and low vision care. Dr. Chan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and serves as a board member of the local chapter of the California Optometric Association.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Chan enjoys playing a friendly game of basketball or tennis. She loves going out to try new restaurants as well as creating her own recipes in the kitchen. |
Dr. Chan is enthusiastic and passionate about providing comprehensive eye care. She is dedicated to her patients and is excited to be part of the team at San Ramon Optometric Group.
